This might be a little presumptuous on our part – but we are going to go ahead and map out your next 3 summers. Let’s kick off the first half of summer 1. It involved the best beginner foil set up with the Shift Mast, Balance wing, and a vertical stabilizer. You will have an easy transition to learning the fundamentals as you advance through the different mast heights how to start, turn, and eventually fly without a rope. At some point towards the latter half of that year you are going to want to slide the stabilizer off and experience a little more freedom and speed. Then comes summer number 2. Once we dust off the cobwebs and get back to your normal flying ways you will want to step up to our more advanced 28” fluid mast. This is where you will be able to embark on wake transfers and really get your bearings of generating speed. Summer # 3 you will be having 4th wave transfers and looking like a seasoned vet – all with the same set up. If you were to only ever buy only 1 foil set up – this would be the one.

Ronix Foil Shift Mast 4 in 1 17-26" & Fluid Mast 28" 2026 introduces the only adjustable mast that can vary in height as you advance as a rider. It grows to 26” tall. Just starting out – place the mast as far back to the tail as you can and shorten the height of the mast to its lowest 17” height setting and the vertical stabilizer attached. This will minimize the flight ability and maximize your chances of getting up and cruising around.

As you build confidence you can then position the mast slightly farther forward on the tracks (closer to the tip) and gradually raise the height to the next 3” height increment – 20”. At this height a rider can really focus on holding on to the handle with 1 hand and learning how to turn. Once comfortable with deepwater starts and the basic fundamentals of turning now the real fun begins. Heighten the mast to 23” and experience the power of the wave. Still while holding on the handle understand where the sweet spot is and how to offset their weight for this rocket ship effect. We recommend riding at this setting until they can comfortably get slack in the rope and repeat that power perspective over and over. Now it is time. More than likely a rider will want to move the mast a little further forward and then raise all the way to the 26” height setting and ride without a rope. The result is the easiest and most adaptable wakefoil on the market in varying heights of 17” / 20” / 23”and 26”. This new Shift Mast really is 4 in 1.

UPING THE ANTE ON CONSISTENCY AND STABILITY
Rhythmic flow of a sequence of movements, a common theme in analyzing foils is getting great drive and lift but having a hard time controlling it. The board will skyrocket to the top, plunge to the bottom, or somewhere in between. This series of wings will ask you what floor on the elevator do you want to reach – and most importantly – keep you there. A nimble turn that will easily roll over to edge with its elliptical outline and additional width. It will quickly set you in the sweet spot, keep you on your specified flight pattern and do it with a quicker reacting edge hold. Offering a built in depth gauge - a white paint over the carbon fiber makes it easier to see how deep your foil set up is under the water.

A STABLE, MEDIUM TEMPO MAST
Stay high, stay consistent, stay fluid. Speed, lift and travel usually override arguably the most important aspect of your mast – the flow. We have tested a variety of foils in the marketplace. A common theme was feeling the foil setup turning in stages. Each pivot would be good for another “X” degrees until you finally arced through a sectioned turn. We were looking for an effortless turn like you get from ripping powder. A shape manifested with a built-in metronome to keep a consistent, prolonged cadence. The temperament of this mast will see you through the progression of flight all the way to second wave exploration nearly 80 feet from the boat. A fluid session will always have you feeling in control of your ride as you comfortably stand upright in a natural foil position. Don’t let it fool you though -it’s still very much capable of jumping on the gas for a port to starboard wave transfer – just with smooth, linked predictable turns.
